Why I won't buy any Android phones

I really want to like Android phones. The new Samsung S3 is very impressive and Android seems to be making more and more progress with each release but the carriers absolutely kill me. According to this article from ArsTechnica, it appears that Motorola won’t be updating their Atrix 4G phone to ICS. Well, I guess I won’t be buying any Android phones in the near future. I fail to see how one of the major selling points of Android phones is that they’re able to be upgraded and yet phone carriers and/or manufacturers won’t allow users to upgrade. How is this good for anyone? For all the complaints that about Apple and their iPhone, why don’t manufacturers or carriers for Android phones get as much flak for this restriction? Whatever. Android fail. Google fail. Carriers/Manufacturers fail. Here’s hoping to Windows Phone 8.
